You first take out the fan, and turn it upside down. Then take the height adjuster piece, and pop them together. Then take the base, and slide those 2 pieces together. Take the power cord, and thread it through the height adjuster. Take the 4 screws, and place the height adjuster against the bottom of the fan, lining it up. Take the 4 screws, and tighten them in. Next, take the power cord, and thread it through the hole in the base. Take your last 4 screws, and tighten those into the base/height adjuster piece. Next, take your power cord, and push the cord through the 2 "holders". Turn your fan upright. Take your remote and batteries, and put it together. Now, plug in your fan. It's ready!
The remote has all the same functions as the actual fan. If you push the blue lid down, it will open, and you can see the controls. It has a timer, oscillation, 3 different modes, and 3 fan speeds. The fan also tells you the temperature in the room it's in. Oh, and the remote has a home on the top of the fan where the blue lid is!!! This is a fantastic product! It cools my fairly large living room, in minutes! I can sit on the other side, and feel the air blowing.
The plastic is very durable, it is well made. The base, height adjuster, and top of the fan, are a dark grey. The actual fan part is silver. The height adjuster, does NOT move. Once attached, it stays at that height unless you remove it. It's very quiet too! My kids had no problem with the noise, it's very soothing. The "Christmas Tree" setting, is like a wave action. It like, does 3 "bursts" of air. Pretty neat!
